Quit habits

Track the habits you are quitting

HabitLine has a Quit habit type for things you want to stop, like smoking, sugar or doomscrolling. It can show a time counter since your last relapse, has a relapse button that resets it, and tracks quit habits with the same streaks and statistics as habits you build.

Build vs quit habits

When you create a habit you choose Build (do something more) or Quit (do something less). Quit habits can show a running time counter, such as "12 days 4 hours", and a relapse button. Strict mode adds a confirmation step before a quit habit is marked failed.

Add rules and a reason

Write the rules you are holding yourself to ("No phone in bed", "No snacks after 8 pm") on the habit, and a description of why you are quitting. Both show when you open the habit.

Common questions

Can HabitLine count days since I quit?

Yes. Turn on the time counter on a Quit habit and it shows the time since your last relapse.

What happens when I relapse?

Press the relapse button. The counter resets and the day is recorded, so your statistics stay honest.

Is HabitLine free?

Yes. The free plan never expires and includes 5 habits, 3 goals, 3 tasks, 5 journal entries and 1 project. Premium removes those limits and adds the full calendar view for $4.99/month, $49.90/year or $149 once.

Do I need an account to use HabitLine?

No. HabitLine runs in guest mode with your data stored locally on your PC. Signing in is optional and syncs your habits, goals, tasks and settings across your Windows PCs.
