Quit habit

Social Media Detox Tracker

A social media detox tracker records the days you stay off the feeds you want to cut. In HabitLine, create a Quit habit like "No social media before noon", write the apps it covers as rules, and log each day.

How to track social media detox in HabitLine

  1. Create a habit and choose Quit as its type, then give it an icon, colour and category.
  2. Set the frequency to Daily.
  3. Turn on a reminder for morning, as a reminder of the rule.
  4. Set a goal duration: 14 days.
  5. Add rules: “Covers Instagram, TikTok and X”, “Messaging apps are fine”.
  6. Each evening, mark the day as done (you held the line) or failed. Skip is there for days that should not count.

Why track social media detox?

Total bans rarely last. A specific, time-bound rule ("before noon", "not in bed") is easier to keep and to track honestly.

Tips that help

  • Make the rule specific to a time or place.
  • Pair it with a replacement build habit, such as reading.
  • Use quick notes to capture the urge to post something instead.

Log it in one press

Put the habit on a key with the HabitLine Stream Deck plugin to mark it done without opening the app. The free plan covers up to 5 habits; Premium is unlimited.
