Gratitude Journal Habit Tracker

A gratitude habit means writing down a few things you are grateful for, usually once a day. In HabitLine, create a daily "Gratitude" habit, keep the entries in a Gratitude journal folder, and use the streak to keep it going.

How to track gratitude journaling in HabitLine

  1. Create a habit and choose Build as its type, then give it an icon, colour and category.
  2. Set the frequency to Daily.
  3. Turn on a reminder for last thing before bed.
  4. Set a goal duration: 21 days.
  5. Add rules: “Three specific things”, “No repeats from yesterday”.
  6. Mark each scheduled day as done, skipped or failed, and watch the streak in Statistics.

Why track gratitude journaling?

Gratitude notes are quick to write and easy to forget. A dedicated folder makes them easy to reread on hard days.

Tips that help

  • Be specific: "the coffee with Sam" beats "my friends".
  • Keep all entries in one Gratitude folder so you can scroll back.
  • Pair it with an existing evening habit, like setting an alarm.

Log it in one press

Put the habit on a key with the HabitLine Stream Deck plugin to mark it done without opening the app. The free plan covers up to 5 habits; Premium is unlimited.
